Why do I get the error "ESP-DIST" launching Fortnite on my console?

ESP errors tend to be connection error codes. This can usually be fixed by clearing your console cache.

PlayStation 5

1. Hold the PS button on your controller.
2. Select the Power menu.
3. Select Turn Off PS5.
4. Wait until the PS5 power indicator light shuts off.
5. Press and hold the power button on the console until you hear a second beep to enter Safe Mode.
   This should take about 7 seconds.
6. Connect your controller to the console using the USB cable.
7. Press the PS button.
8. Navigate to the Clear Cache and Rebuild Database option using your controller.
9. Select Clear System Software Cache.
10. Select OK.
11. Wait for the console to restart on its own.
12. Start Fortnite.

PlayStation 4

1. Turn off your Console (do not enter Rest Mode).
2. Wait for the light on top of the console to stop blinking.
3. Unplug the Power Cord from the back of the console.
4. Wait 1-2 minutes.
5. Plug the Power Cord back into the console.
6. Turn the Console back on.
7. Start Fortnite.

Xbox series S|X

1. Turn off your Xbox Series S/X down and unplug it
2. Unplug all accessories connected to the console.
3. Leave the console unplugged for two minutes.
4. Press the power button and hold it while the console is unplugged.
5. Reconnect the power cord.
6. Power on your Xbox Series S|X.
7. Start Fortnite.

Xbox One

1. Turn off your Xbox One.
2. Once the indicator lights on the front of the Xbox One and the console's power brick are off
3. Unplug the power brick from the back of your console.
4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
5. Plug the power brick back into your Xbox One and turn it on.
6. Start Fortnite.

Nintendo Switch

1. Select the Home menu.
2. Select System Settings.
3. Select System.
4. Select Formatting Options.
5. Select Reset Cache.
6. Select the User you want to clear cache and follow the instructions.
7. Restart your Switch.
8. Start Fortnite.
