If you are getting a specific error message in Fortnite, type in the exact error message in the "Search Help Center..." This should bring up an article for that error message.
You can also visit the Fortnite Community Issues website. This has a list of known issues. Some of these issues will have workarounds that can get you back in the game.

Check for Platform Updates
Make sure the console is up to date with the latest system updates. System software updates normally download automatically. Depending on your platform, visit the following articles to update it manually:
Clear Platform Cache
Clearing the memory cache of your platform can help the game run more efficiently.
Reinstall Fortnite
PlayStation:
- Go to the Main Menu.
- Highlight Fortnite.
- Press the Options button on your controller
- Select Delete.
Xbox Series X|S:
- On the Home page, select My Games & Apps.
- Go to Games tab and highlight Fortnite.
- Press the Menu button on your controller.
- Select Uninstall.
Nintendo Switch:
- Highlight Fortnite.
- Press the + button on your Joy-Con.
- Select Manage Software.
- Select Delete Software.
