DNS is a name lookup service, like a phone book for the internet. Flushing your DNS allows your device to remove outdated entries and get new ones.
To flush your DNS follow the steps below:
- Press and release the Windows key + the R key on your keyboard
- Type CMD and Right-click on Command Prompt
- Select Run as Administrator to access the prompt.
- Type netsh winsock reset and press the Enter key.
- Restart your computer.
- Repeat steps 1-3 to open a new Command Prompt
- Type ipconfig /release in the prompt
- Wait a few moments for all information to load
- Type ipconfig /renew in the prompt
- Wait a few moments for all information to load
- Type ipconfig /flushdns in the prompt
- Close the command prompt
- Open the Epic Games Launcher and start your game
