This error message prevents you from linking a new platform account to your Epic Games account. If you received this error, it means there is a restriction that prevents you from linking a new platform account if the same platform type was previously linked to your Epic Games account.

To resolve this error, you can re-link your original platform account.

If you don’t want to or can’t relink your original platform account, you can remove a restriction and link a new platform account once every 365 days (1 year). To make any changes, you must be logged in and have access to the email registered to your Epic Games account.

Before starting the process to remove a restriction, you need to unlink the platform from your Epic Games account. You can use the steps in How do I unlink my console account from my Epic Games account? article to do so.

WARNING: Fortnite Crew subscriptions can be affected by unlinking platform accounts. If you unlink your account, no new monthly content will be granted to your Epic Games account. Before you unlink your account, you can follow the steps in the How can I cancel my Fortnite Crew subscription? article to cancel your Crew subscription.
