How do I set up port forwarding on my router to reach the Epic Games servers?

Opening ports may threaten the security of your network. This should be done at your own discretion.

In some cases, your router may be blocking communication with the Epic servers. "Unable to Connect" is a typical error message associated with this issue. To resolve this, you may need to manually forward these ports.

1. Click on Start and Type cmd and press Enter.
2. Type ipconfig and press Enter.
3. Take note of your Default Gateway and IPv4.
4. Open your web browser (ex. Chrome, Firefox, etc.).
5. Type your Default Gateway into the URL Address bar to access your router's settings.
   • You may be prompted with a popup window requesting your username and password.
   • Most routers use "admin" as a username and "password" as a password.
6. You can also check this website for a list of usernames and passwords.
7. Look for the Port Forwarding page once you are on your router’s configuration page.
   • Port Triggering is not the same as Port Forwarding.
8. Add entries for Epic Games using the following port ranges:
   • 80 TCP/UDP
   • 443 TCP
   • 443 TCP
   • 3478 TCP/UDP
   • 3479 TCP/UDP
   • 5060 TCP/UDP
   • 5062 TCP/UDP
   • 5222 TCP
   • 6250 TCP/UDP
   • 12000-65000 TCP/UDP

Port forwarding will not improve the quality of your connection to the game servers. It will only help in cases where you are unable to connect to our servers while you are online.
