How do I capture screenshots and video clips for Epic support?

The best way to show strange behavior in games is to take a photo or video when you submit a help ticket. Below you will find steps to capture images on each platform.

Epic Games Store

Epic Games does not currently have a way to take a screenshot. You can use the Window Screenshot feature to capture a screenshot instead.

  1. Hold down the Windows Key button on your keyboard.
  2. Press the Print Screen button on your keyboard.
  3. Return to your Computer Desktop.
  4. Click on the Yellow Folder icon in the lower left corner of your screen to open your Computer’s Files.
  5. Click on the Pictures folder.
  6. Double-Click on the Screenshots folder.
  7. Select the image.

PlayStation 5

To capture a screenshot:

  1. Press the Create button on the DualSense controller.
  2. Select the small camera icon to take the screenshot.

To record a video clip:

  1. Press the Create button on the DualSense controller.
  2. Select Start New Recording'to record gameplay footage.

PlayStation 4

To capture a screenshot:

  1. Long press the Share button on your controller
    Alternatively, you may need to do a short press if you have previously selected Easy Screenshots in [Settings] > [Sharing and Broadcasts] > [SHARE Button Control Type]

To record a video clip of an action that just happened:

  1. Press the Share button on your controller.
    Alternatively, you may need to do a long press if you have previously selected Easy Screenshots in [Settings] > [Sharing and Broadcasts] > [SHARE Button Control Type]
  2. Select Video Clip on the menu.
    The length of this video clip will depend on your current settings
    You can change this in [Settings] > [Sharing and Broadcasts] > [Length of Video Clip]

To record a video clip of something that is about to happen:

  1. Press the Share button Twice on your controller.
  2. Press the Share button Twice again to stop the recording.
    If you do not stop the recording it will continue until you reach the length allowed by your settings in [Share Settings] > [Video Clip Settings] > [Length of Video Clip]

Xbox Series X|S

Press the Share button on the controller to capture a screenshot.

Holding the Share button will capture a video.

Xbox One

To capture a screenshot:

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.
  2. Press the Y button to take a screenshot.

To record a video clip of the last 30 seconds of gameplay:

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.
  2. Press the X button to capture the recording.

To record a video clip of something that is about to happen:

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.
  2. Press the View button to open Capture Options.
  3. Select Record From Now.

Screenshots and recorded clips can be found in your Capture Options > Manage Captures

Nintendo Switch

To capture a screenshot, press and release the Capture Button on the left JoyCon.

To record a video clip of the last 30 seconds of gameplay, hold down the Capture Button on the left JoyCon.

Recorded clips can be found in Home > Album

Steam

To capture a screenshot:

  1. Press the F12 key while playing the game.
    F12 is the default key for screenshots.
    The screenshot key may have been changed in Steam > Settings > In-Game.
  2. Exit the game.
  3. Wait a moment for Screenshot Uploader to appear.
  4. Click the Show On Disk button.

This will open the folder where the screenshots are located. They can then be attached to an email.
