Levels, Titles, and Experience Points (XP) in Rocket League

What is XP and how does it affect my Level?

As you play the game, you acquire XP. XP helps you progress to the next Tier of Rocket Pass which earns an Item as a reward. XP Level doesn’t reflect player skill.

How can I obtain XP?

XP is obtained by completing Online Playlist Matches. When playing, you can earn Points by scoring goals, making saves, and more.

Base XP depends on multiple factors, such as match completion, the overall time of the match, whether you've won or lost the match, etc. The amount of XP you earn can also be increased by special Bonus XP multipliers or by having Rocket Pass Premium. These give you an extra percentage of your base XP or multiply the amount of XP you get.

Why didn't I get XP after a match?

There is a minimum Point threshold that must be reached in order to get XP. This threshold is in place to encourage players to stay active during a match.

What are Titles?

Depending on the Level you have reached, different Titles will unlock. Titles do not reflect skill or ability. They do not affect the ranking on the Competitive Playlists. Titles can also be unlocked from Rocket Pass or Competitive Tournaments.

Here are the Titles available from leveling up:

  • Veteran at Level 20
  • Expert at Level 40
  • Master at Level 60
  • Legend at Level 80
  • Rocketeer at Level 100
  • Elite Challenger at Level 200
  • And more...!

Can I hide my Title?

Yes, everyone has the option to hide their Title:

  1. Select Profile from the Main Menu
  2. Select the Tag Icon to the right of Choose Banner
  3. Select None

Can I reset my Level/Title/XP?

There is no way to reset Level, Title, or XP.

When playing Online, will I get paired with other people that have the same Level and Title?

You may, but the Matchmaking system considers Rank, not Level or Title.
