How do I level up my Heroes and Schematics?

Last Updated: Jun 03, 2018 09:02PM EDT

Leveling up Heroes and schematics allows you to consume XP in order to improve their effectiveness.

To level up Heroes and Schematics:

  1. Select the Schematic or Hero you would like to level up.
  2. Click Upgrade/Inspect.
  3. Level up the Hero or Schematic by pressing the L key or clicking Level Up. This will consume some of your available Hero or Schematic XP.

Evolution of Heroes and Other Schematics

You can also Evolve schematics, which grants additional abilities and alterations.

For example, this Dragon Sniper Rifle is currently level 10/10. This Schematic has the first two of the Perks unlocked, because it is at Schematic level 10. When this Schematic gets evolved, and leveled up to level 15, it will unlock the +18% Fire Rate perk.

There are a few prerequisites you must complete before you are able to evolve a schematic:

  1. You will need to have the proper node unlocked in the Skill Tree. (There are different nodes for evolving melee and ranged weapons, as well as Heroes, Defenders, and Survivors.) These can be found starting in Skill Tree Tier 2:

  2. The level of the item will need to be maxed out (leveled up to level 10 if 1 star, 20 if 2 stars, etc).

  3. All items required for the Evolution will need to be met:

    • Anything missing will show, including (as you can see) the required nodes in the skill tree.
